Two men with connections to the Manor House street gang in Hackney have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms following a detailed investigation by the Metropolitan Police’s specialist crime teams.
Jordan Shaw, 20, of Green Lanes, was sentenced to 21 years in prison for two counts of possession of a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life, conspiracy to commit murder, and attempted murder.

His associate, Joshua Fraser, 19, of King Edwards Road, received a 14-year sentence for possession of a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life, as well as conspiracy to commit murder.

The sentencing comes after a violent incident where both men took part in a “ride out” into opposition gang territory in Hackney’s Shrubland Road area, E8. Mistaking a car for belonging to a rival gang, they opened fire. Inside the car, however, were innocent civilians: a 13-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl. Miraculously, neither child was injured in the shooting.
Shaw was also involved in a separate shooting on Stoke Newington High Street, N16, where he fired three shots at a victim, striking them in the arm.

The Met’s Specialist Crime teams conducted intensive investigations, ultimately arresting Shaw and Fraser at their home addresses on May 31, 2023, and October 4, 2023, respectively. During the investigation, the firearm used by the pair was recovered and later found to have been used in 11 other shootings across London.
Detective Chief Inspector Andrea Ireland of Specialist Crime North commended the efforts of the Met’s Trident officers, stating: “Following exhaustive investigative enquiries, we have taken two extremely dangerous men off the streets. Our proactive teams recovered the firearm used in Hackney, which had been involved in multiple previous discharges in London. This work has had a significant impact in safeguarding our local community and securing justice for victims, including very young children.
The sentencing took place at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
The Metropolitan Police are actively working to tackle serious and organized crime in London. Over the past year, the Met seized 386 illegal firearms across the capital and achieved a significant reduction in firearms-related offences, dropping from 196 to 145 between April 2023 and March 2024.
As part of its efforts to build a safer London, the Met is focused on engaging with communities, fostering trust, and targeting crime groups. The force’s approach to firearms offences underscores its commitment to ensuring the safety of all Londoners.
