A bouncer at Heaven nightclub in London has been named after being charged with the rape of a woman earlier this month. Morenikeji Adewole, 47, of Dunlop Close, Dartford, also known as Olu Julius or Olusolu Alabi, appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, November 14.

Adewole has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Southwark Crown Court on Wednesday, December 11.

Incident and Closure of Heaven Nightclub

The alleged incident occurred on November 1 near the popular nightclub, which is located near Charing Cross. The victim reportedly attempted to report the attack to other members of staff, who allegedly ignored her.

Following these serious allegations, Westminster Council’s licensing committee has temporarily suspended Heaven’s licence for up to 28 days while a full hearing is prepared. The nightclub will remain closed from tonight (Friday, November 15) onward.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police commented:

“These incidents raise serious concerns about the venue’s ability to fulfil its obligations to protect its customers, particularly in relation to safeguarding.”

Licensing and Public Safety

The suspension decision, made at the request of the Metropolitan Police, was grounded in public safety concerns. Heaven’s management will be required to address these issues at the forthcoming licensing hearing.

This high-profile case has drawn significant attention to safety measures at London’s nightlife venues, with calls for stronger safeguards to protect patrons.
