The Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit has issued an update regarding a tragic incident that occurred on Mullein Road in Bicester. On Wednesday, March 13, officers responded to reports of a man found with serious injuries at a residence in the area.
Despite the efforts of paramedics from the South Central Ambulance Service, the man, aged in his forties, was pronounced dead at the scene. Formal identification has now taken place, and the victim has been confirmed as Dale Bond, a 45-year-old resident of Bicester.
A post-mortem examination revealed that the cause of death was a stab wound to the chest. The loss of Mr. Bond has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving family, friends, and neighbours grieving.
Bailey Heywood, aged 22, who has no fixed abode but is known to be from the Bicester area, has been charged with one count of murder. Heywood is scheduled to appear at the Oxford Crown Court, where the Oxford Magistrates’ Court is currently in session, on Saturday, March 16.
Another man in his twenties, who was also arrested in connection with the incident, has been released on police bail pending further investigation.
