Officers from the Metropolitan Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Water Lane, Stratford, London. The incident took place late on October 18 and involved a vehicle striking a pedestrian, with emergency services responding to reports of a person being involved in a collision near Forest Lane.

The Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service were called to the scene at approximately 10:25 pm. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the pedestrian’s injuries were incompatible with life, and they were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Met Police Specialist Collision Investigation Unit has taken over the investigation to determine the cause of the collision. Authorities have not yet released details regarding the identity of the victim.

The area around Water Lane has been cordoned off, and road closures are expected to remain in place for several hours as officers conduct their enquiries. Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes to avoid delays.
