Detectives appeal for information following the death of an elderly man
Detectives in Kensington have launched a murder investigation after an elderly man was found dead at a property on Longridge Road.
Police were called to the scene on Sunday, 17 March at 3.15pm following reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers discovered the 78-year-old victim and immediately began CPR efforts until the arrival of the London Ambulance Service. Despite their best efforts, the man tragically passed away at the scene.
Formal identification is pending, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted in due course to determine the cause of death.
At the scene, a 33-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody, where he remains as the investigation progresses.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee, leading the investigation, extended condolences to the victim’s family and acquaintances, expressing sympathy for their loss.
“While our investigation remains ongoing,” said DCI Lee, “we are not seeking anyone else at this time.”
