Human Remains Found in Barton-on-Sea Confirmed as Missing Woman Isobel Munro
Police have confirmed that human remains discovered in Barton-on-Sea belong to missing Christchurch woman, Isobel Munro.
Remains Found in Woodland
At 10:10am on Tuesday 29 November 2016, female human remains were found in woodland at Long Meadow, Barton-on-Sea, Hampshire. A post-mortem has now identified the remains as those of Isobel Munro, who was reported missing back in April 2016.
Family Notified, Investigation Underway
Isobel’s family have been informed of the grim discovery. Police have cordoned off part of Long Meadow while forensic experts from Hampshire Constabulary’s Major Crime Team continue their investigations.
Death Treated as Unexplained
Dorset Police are working closely with Hampshire officers to uncover the exact circumstances behind Isobel’s death. The case is currently being treated as unexplained.
