Police were called to Beach Green in Shoreham on the evening of October 29 following reports of a large group of young people gathering in the area. Officers responded at around 7:30 p.m. and conducted a patrol to assess the situation.

In response to the gathering, authorities imposed a section 34 dispersal order, granting police the power to direct individuals to leave the area to prevent disorder and ensure public safety.

During the operation, two 15-year-old girls were arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and obstructing or resisting arrest. The girls were taken into custody and later released on bail as further enquiries continue.

Police have not disclosed the specifics of the altercation but confirmed that the investigation remains active. Residents and witnesses are encouraged to provide any information that could assist with the investigation.

Updates will follow as authorities complete their enquiries.
