Police were called to Avery Hill Road, SE9, in Greenwich shortly after midnight following reports of a man being attacked and sprayed with an unknown substance.
The incident occurred at 12:13am when a man sustained head injuries during an assault. Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service, attended the scene, providing treatment before transporting the victim to the hospital.
Substance Attack
During initial investigations, officers discovered that three other people had also been sprayed with the substance. Subsequent tests confirmed that the substance was non-toxic. Fortunately, none of the victims suffered life-threatening or life-changing injuries.

Ongoing Investigation
At this stage, no arrests have been made, and police have launched urgent enquiries to identify those responsible. A crime scene remains in place as forensic officers conduct further investigations.
The Metropolitan Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could assist their investigation to call 101, quoting reference CAD45/10DEC24.
