Man, 43, Dies in Holy Cross Stabbing – Five Arrested
Police were called just before 2.30pm on Monday after a man was found seriously injured on St Hilda’s Avenue, Holy Cross. Ambulance crews rushed to the scene, followed by the Great North Air Ambulance, but the 43-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Multiple Teen Arrests After Fatal Attack
Three teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of murder the same day but have since been released under investigation. Meanwhile, two more suspects, aged 18 and 16, remain in police custody.
Police Appeal for Information
Detective Inspector Louise Jenkins from Northumbria Police said, “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this difficult time. We are carrying out a thorough investigation. There is no current threat to the wider public.”
