Murder probe launched after woman dies in Theale
Thames Valley Police have opened a murder investigation after a 28-year-old woman died in Theale in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Woman found seriously injured at property
Officers were called to Blossom Lane at 12.53am on 6 September following reports of a woman badly injured inside a home. Paramedics and police rushed to the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead.
The woman’s identity is yet to be confirmed, but police have informed her next of kin.
Man arrested on suspicion of murder
A 30-year-old local man was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody. Detectives believe the incident was domestic in nature and have assured the public there is no wider threat to the community.
“I would like to reassure residents that we are conducting a thorough investigation and a murder inquiry has been launched,” said Detective Chief Inspector Ailsa Kent.
“We are supporting the victim’s family during this difficult time. An increased police presence is visible in the area, with officers ready to speak to any concerned residents.”
Police urge public to come forward
Officers have set up a scene-watch in Blossom Lane and are appealing for anyone with information to contact them immediately.
