Craig Bacon bombarded his victim with calls every single day. Each time she answered, he spewed vile threats and aggressive abuse, making her fear for her life. The constant harassment pushed her to finally report him to the police.
Swift Police Action After Victim Speaks Out
Bacon, from Ladybrook Place, Mansfield, was arrested on 21 September 2022 following an urgent investigation. He promptly admitted guilt to harassment and breaching a restraining order. The relentless torment ended when he was locked up for 16 months at Nottingham Crown Court on 23 November 2022.
Police Praise Victim’s Courage
“Keeping women safe and supporting victims of this kind of unacceptable behaviour are priorities for the force,” said Chief Inspector Leigh Sanders of Nottinghamshire Police’s Public Protection team.
“We take these reports incredibly seriously and do everything we can to bring offenders to justice. I commend the woman’s bravery in coming forward and hope this sentence offers her some peace.”
