Tragic Stabbing of 19-Year-Old Archie Sparks Murder Probe

A 19-year-old man was fatally stabbed during a night out in Kingston, sparking a full murder investigation. The victim has been named as Archie Beston from Barnes.

Archie Found Stabbed in Early Hours

Police were called at around 3:40am on Saturday, 29 February, after reports of a stabbing on Wood Street, Kingston. Archie was discovered injured at the scene and rushed to a west London hospital by paramedics, but he sadly died on Friday, 6 March.

Four Men Arrested – Two Charged

  • A 20-year-old man was arrested on the night of the stabbing and charged with possession of blades and affray. He’s remanded in custody and set to appear at Kingston Crown Court on 26 March.
  • An 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and later released on bail to return later this month.
  • Another 20-year-old was arrested on 1 March, charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) and dangerous driving, and granted bail.
  • A 19-year-old arrested on suspicion of affray faces no further action.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage

Detective Chief Inspector Helen Rance urged witnesses to come forward: “Archie’s family have been left utterly devastated by the sudden loss of their son… We know there are people who witnessed the incident outside John Lewis in Kingston. Please come forward if you have any information or footage.”

South West Commander Sally Benatar called the killing “senseless and tragic” and vowed to clamp down on knife crime in south west London.

Heartbroken Family Speak Out

Archie’s family described him as “sweet-natured and popular” with no enemies. They revealed he planned to travel the world and work in Ibiza this summer.

“He was a family boy, happy and loved life. He was so innocent and appears to have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was our whole world.”
