Young Man Stabbed to Death in Knightsbridge
A murder probe is underway after a young man was fatally stabbed in Knightsbridge in the early hours. Police were called to Brompton Road, SW1, at just after midnight following reports of a stabbing.
Victim Dies at the Scene, Second Man Injured
Emergency services, including London’s Air Ambulance, found a 26-year-old man unconscious with a stab wound to his back. He was pronounced dead at 12:30am. A second man, who was with the victim, also suffered a knife injury but his wounds are not life-threatening. He is currently receiving treatment at a west London hospital.
Police Investigate Possible Robbery Gone Wrong
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Partridge, leading the investigation, said:
“Victims were heading home after dining nearby when two males approached them on Basil Street at the junction with Pavilion Road. We believe the suspects tried to steal property and attacked the victims during the encounter. The motive is not confirmed, and we are exploring all lines of inquiry at pace.”

The Homicide Assessment Team is urging anyone with information to come forward. Local officers have stepped up patrols to reassure the community.

A post-mortem is due today at Westminster Mortuary. Next of kin have been informed, though formal ID is still pending.
