Teenage Troublemaker Smashes Police Car at Wild Brixton Rave
16-Year-Old Banged Up for Violent Disorder
A 16-year-old boy has been sentenced after recklessly damaging a police vehicle during an unlicensed music blowout in Brixton. The teen, unnamed for legal reasons, admitted violent disorder at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on 16 July.
Chaos Erupts at Illegal Music Event
On the night of 24 June, police responded to multiple noise complaints at an illegal rave on Angel Town Estate. Despite repeated attempts by the Met and Lambeth Council to shut it down, the event ballooned out of control.
By 2am on 25 June, violence exploded as crowds clashed with officers. The teenager was caught on CCTV wielding a table leg to smash a police car window and hurling objects at vehicles amid the chaos.
Curfew, Fines and Bans Handed Down
Following the violence, cops swiftly arrested the boy after reviewing footage posted on social media. At court, he got a six-week night curfew from 8pm to 5am, a Youth Referral Order, a ban from Angel Town Estate, and a £107 fine.
PC Rob Bowyer said: “It cannot be right that police officers were subjected to horrifying levels of violence for trying to shut down an event which puts the safety of those attending at serious risk. I’m pleased this youngster has been sentenced. Our investigation continues and more arrests are expected.”
