Knife Rampage Shakes South London Warehouse

Babah Sesay, 31, from Southwark, went on a terrifying stabbing spree at a distribution centre in Marlowe Way, Beddington on 23 January. Armed with a knife, Sesay viciously attacked five men aged in their 20s, 30s and 50s, leaving them seriously injured.

Thankfully, none of the victims suffered life-threatening or permanent damage after being rushed to hospital.

After the bloody attack, Sesay fled but was quickly tracked down by police at a nearby fast-food restaurant. He was arrested following treatment for minor wounds.

Sentenced for Shocking Violence

On 29 August, Sesay received a hefty jail sentence at 1 Crown Court after pleading guilty to 10 charges back in March, including:

  • Five counts of wounding with intent
  • Two counts of aggravated burglary
  • One count of actual bodily harm
  • One count of assault by beating
  • Possession of an offensive weapon

A criminal damage charge was dropped.

Police Praise and Firm Warning

“This significant jail term provides justice to the victims and highlights to the people of London that we will not tolerate violence in any form. No one should go to work and fear for their safety. The swift actions of our first responding officers meant no one was seriously hurt in this terrifying incident and I’d like to personally thank them again for their bravery.” – Chief Superintendent Nick Blackburn

Complex Case Ends Without Trial

Police confirm Sesay’s guilty plea spared the victims from the trauma of a court trial. This violent episode is one of the most serious workplace knife attacks London has seen in recent years.
