Man, 32, Charged with Attempted Murder After Stabbing in Park Gate

A 32-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in Park Gate. Police were called at 10.15pm on Sunday, August 19, after a 24-year-old man was found with puncture wounds to his chest near Halfords on Southampton Road.

Serious Assault Shocks Park Gate

The victim, from Fareham, was rushed to Southampton General Hospital where he remains in a serious condition. Police have confirmed this attack is not linked to any other recent incidents in the area.

Arrests Made in Rapid Police Inquiry

Two men from Fareham, aged 32 and 29, were arrested shortly after the assault. Ashley Peter Luff, 32, of Bedford Drive, Fareham, has now been formally charged with attempted murder. He is set to appear at portsmouth/" title="Portsmouth" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, August 22.

The 29-year-old man arrested on suspicion of helping an offender was released without charge but remains under investigation.
