Witnesses Describe Horror at Bus Stop
The shocking attack unfolded around 11:50 a.m. in broad daylight. Locals say the victim fought back when the attacker attempted the robbery.
Jess Bloom, 24, who works nearby, said: “It happened at the bus stop, and the woman ended up in the middle of the road. The guy was trying to get her handbag, but she said no and fought back. I saw her pull the handbag twice. He pulled her into the road and stabbed her three times.”
Screams rang out as horrified witnesses saw blood pouring from the victim. Paramedics rushed to the scene but sadly, she was pronounced dead there.
Community Shocked by Brutal Daylight Attack
Local resident Mohamed Ble, 47, recalled the chilling scene: “I saw the woman. She was stabbed in her throat, in her chin, and twice in her chest. There was a lot of blood, too much blood. I heard a lot of shouting, I did not know what.”
The suspect fled immediately, triggering a major police hunt. A cordon remains in place while investigations continue and no further arrests have been made.
Police Appeal and Family Left Devastated
Detective Superintendent Tony Bellis of the North West Command Unit said: “This is a significant development in this investigation and comes as a result of fast-time work from specialist detectives working alongside local officers. The investigation remains in its early stages.”
He urged the public to avoid speculation. “A family has been left devastated by this shocking attack, and my thoughts are with them at this unimaginably difficult time,” he added.
Authorities continue efforts to identify the victim’s next of kin and are probing the motive behind the savage stabbing, including whether the attacker was known to her.
The Burnt Oak community remains shaken by this brazen daylight crime, as residents and police vow to seek justice for the victim and her grieving family.
