Man in 20s Stabbed in Tonbridge High Street

Just after 10pm on Wednesday, 24 March 2021, chaos erupted at Tonbridge’s High Street junction with River Walk. A man in his 20s was rushed to hospital with multiple stab wounds after Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service responded to the scene.

Serious Condition in London Hospital

The victim remains in a serious condition at a London hospital. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Deejay Evans from New Wharf Road, Tonbridge, was arrested shortly after. He is known to the injured man.

Attempted Murder Charge

Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are leading the probe. On Friday, 26 March, Evans was charged with attempted murder. He was remanded in custody and is due before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 27 March.

A 19-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has since been released without charge.
