18-Year-Old Arrested Over Murder of Bristol Rapper Takayo

An 18-year-old man handed himself into police custody today (Tuesday, 6 December) and is now held on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody as investigations continue.

Police Hunt Second Suspect Caught on CCTV

Detectives are urgently trying to trace another man seen on CCTV footage from the Carnival. Detective Inspector Laura Semple appealed: “Do you know who this person is? He was caught on CCTV at the Carnival and we still urgently need to trace him.”

She added: “If you can help or have any information – no matter how small – about Takayo’s murder, please come forward.”

Tragic Death at Ladbroke Grove Carnival

Takayo, 21, a Bristol rapper, died in hospital after being stabbed at around 8pm on Monday, 29 August under the Westway flyover in Ladbroke Grove. He had been enjoying the Carnival with his sister and friends when tragedy struck.

The post-mortem revealed a fatal stab wound to the right groin femoral artery.

Witness Appeal: Hundreds Were There

With hundreds nearby during the incident, police believe many witnessed what happened. Detectives want anyone who was filming or taking photos at the Carnival to check their footage for clues.

Other Arrests and Ongoing Inquiries

  • 23-year-old man and 18-year-old man arrested in Bristol on 19 October, both suspected of murder.
  • 20-year-old woman arrested in Islington for assisting an offender; later bailed.
  • 17-year-old male arrested in Bristol on 22 October on suspicion of murder; later bailed.

The 18-year-old man and the 20-year-old woman remain on bail while the 23-year-old was released under investigation.
