Four Busted Over Ealing Restaurant Shooting
Four men have been locked up after a jaw-dropping shooting at a busy Ealing restaurant. Cops pieced together CCTV snaps, phone records, and vehicle GPS data to nail the culprits behind the terrifying attack.
The Court Case: Five Weeks of Evidence
The foursome caught the hard stare of justice at Kingston Crown Court after a tense five-week trial this summer. Lee Morgan (42) from Leybourne, Nicholas Grant (46), homeless, Elton Charles (50) from Kensal Rise, and Nathanial St Aimie (49) of Tooting were all found guilty of conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to cause fear.
On September 15, Morgan, Grant, and Charles were sentenced to five years each. St Aimie, who admitted guilt early in the trial, drew a heftier sentence of six years and three months.
How the Crime Unfolded
- The shooting happened around 9.30pm on September 6, 2022, when a bullet smashed through a window at the packed restaurant on Greenford Road.
- Miraculously, no one was hurt, but diners were left shaken.
- CCTV footage revealed Grant firing the shot after stepping out of a white van.
- Initially, the van’s number plate was hidden but later identified through more CCTV and linked to a hire firm.
- Data showed St Aimie rented the van months earlier and returned it to his home right after the attack.
- Using a disposable phone, St Aimie scoped out the restaurant a day before and orchestrated the shooting with his mates.
Detective Praises Team’s Work
“This was a shocking attack. Only luck stopped anyone from getting hurt inside,” said Detective Constable Meechok Maingarm. “The restaurant owners and customers were terrified.”
“Thanks to the tireless work of the team, we proved all four were in contact and plotted this deliberate shooting for financial gain.”
