Horrific CCTV Shows Teen’s Fatal Stabbing in Abbey Wood
Gruesome CCTV footage revealing the chilling moment a 16-year-old boy was fatally stabbed in Abbey Wood was played today at a double murder trial. The case centres on the deaths of two teenage boys, Charlie Bartolo and Kearne Solanke, both aged 16, found stabbed about a mile apart in Abbey Wood and Thamesmead last November 26.
Four Teens on Trial for Deadly Stabbings
The murder trial, which kicked off on November 9, involves four teenagers accused of carrying out both killings. Shocking details emerged that Kearne Solanke, one of the victims, was allegedly part of a gang that forced Charlie off his moped using a 4×4 before he was brutally stabbed in the head.
In a twist, Kearne is believed to have been accidentally stabbed by one of his own friends during the violent confrontation. The jury watched harrowing footage of Charlie screaming “no, no, no” as he was knocked to the ground and attacked by knife-wielding assailants. The CCTV also caught the moment Kearne was struck by a stray blade.
Prosecutor Details Chaos After Attack
Prosecutor Emlyn Jones painted a grim picture of the aftermath, saying: “This should be a moment of celebration and excitement – after all, they had gone on an armed trip into Abbey Wood and found and stabbed someone from that rival territory.” But the mood quickly soured when they realised Kearne was gravely injured.
Kearne was dumped on the pavement of Titmuss Avenue as the car sped away. One of the accused then got out, rushed back, and dialled 999 with a borrowed phone, giving the name John Brady. The teen was heard desperately pleading, “stay with me,” but Kearne died at the scene from a fatal shoulder wound.
Brutal Details of Charlie’s Injuries Revealed
Mr Jones disclosed Charlie suffered around eight stab wounds, including a severe 8cm cut to the top of his head that penetrated his skull, causing fatal brain trauma.
The CCTV did not show the attackers’ faces, but police analysed footage from earlier in the day to identify suspects. Evidence included Snapchat videos Kearne filmed moments before the attack, showing him vaping in the 4×4.
Phone mast data also tied all four defendants to the Sewell Road scene. All four deny any involvement in the murders.
The trial at Inner London Crown Court continues as the court seeks justice for these tragic youngsters.
