Shocking Video: Kenosha Cop Caught Punching Innocent Black Man

The Kenosha Police Department is under fire again after a viral video showed an officer punching a Black man wrongly accused of a hit-and-run. The incident has sparked outrage in the Wisconsin city already fraught with racial tensions.

What Happened? Confusion and Chaos Outside Applebee’s

On July 20, witnesses saw two Black men and a Black woman running towards an Applebee’s after a hit-and-run crash. An employee flagged them down as “suspicious” to police. Officers quickly confronted one man carrying a baby.

The footage is ugly. Despite the man pleading his innocence and begging to be released, cops grabbed the baby and threw him to the ground. One officer brutally punched him while demanding compliance. It later emerged he had no connection to the crash whatsoever.

Remembering Kenosha’s Dark Past: Calls for Justice and Reform

The police have yet to say if the officer is white or Black. But the incident drags up painful memories of 2020, when white cop Rusten Sheskey shot Black man Jacob Blake, triggering violent protests.

Tanya McLean, chief of the local restorative justice group Leaders of Kenosha, slammed the force at a news conference. She demanded cops act to protect, not harm—especially people simply out with family.

“Both the shooting of Jacob Blake and this punch were driven by fear,” McLean said. “We need accountability. The officers involved in this Applebee’s attack must be charged.”

Community Outraged: Time to End Racial Profiling

This latest scandal digs up uncomfortable questions about police behaviour, racial profiling, and the urgent need for reform. Kenosha’s residents, activists, and leaders are crying out for transparency, justice, and an end to systemic discrimination targeting minorities.
