Kenyan Serial Killer Lynched After Escaping Police Custody

Masten Milimo Wanjala, 20, shocked Kenya when he admitted to murdering at least 10 children over five years — some victims reportedly had blood sucked straight from their veins before being killed. Arrested in July over the disappearance of two kids, Wanjala was due in court this week in Nairobi for the cold-blooded murders targeting children as young as 12 and 13.

Mob Justice in Bungoma After Dramatic Escape

During a morning roll call at the Nairobi police station, officers discovered Wanjala had vanished. He fled over 400 kilometres to his rural home in Bungoma. Schoolchildren recognised him immediately, sparking a furious hunt. As local residents closed in, Wanjala jumped into a neighbour’s house to hide, but was eventually dragged out and lynched by the mob.

“He comes from this area and so the children saw him and knew it was him and that is when information spread around and locals started pursuing him,” said local official Bonface Ndiema.

Horrific Murders Spark Outrage Across Kenya

Police hailed Wanjala’s July arrest as a breakthrough amid a string of chilling child disappearances across the country. Victims were reportedly drugged, drained of blood, and some strangled to death.

Wanjala’s gruesome killing spree began five years ago with a 12-year-old boy kidnapped in Machakos county, east of Nairobi. His next victim’s murder in western Kenya triggered angry protests. Locals even torched the suspected killer’s home in outrage.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) revealed that many families never knew their children had already been killed, with bodies dumped in thick bushes or submerged in sewer lines to rot.

Several children believed to be Wanjala’s victims are still missing, their bodies yet to be found.
