Suspect Caught After CCTV Leads Police to Croydon
Police released CCTV footage on Sunday showing a hooded suspect near the scene. This led to the arrest of a 20-year-old Croydon man in London on charges of murder and attempted murder.
Dorset Police worked closely with the Metropolitan Police’s firearms and intelligence units to make the arrest. A 17-year-old boy initially detained in connection with the case was later released.
Tributes Flood In for Beloved Coach
Amie Gray was the ladies’ head coach at a football club near Chapel Gate, just three miles from the beach. She was married to Sian Gray and was a stepmother to Sian’s 13-year-old daughter.
Friends describe Amie as “a beautiful person inside and out.” Her wife and stepdaughter honoured her memory by scattering rose petals into the sea at sunset.
Sian Gray said, “Sunsets will always remind us of you, Amie Gray. Forever loved wife and mother.”
Coach Nicola Smale added, “Fly high Amie Gray, I’ll cherish the memories forever.” Alice Fraser remembered her as “someone who lit up the room with her fun and bubbly presence.”

Detectives continue to appeal for anyone with information about the attack to come forward.
A police spokesperson said: “The enhanced visible policing presence in the area will remain in place. Anyone with concerns should speak to an officer for advice.”
