Met Police Officer Faces Court Over Shocking Theft During Heart Attack Incident
PC Craig Carter in the Dock
PC Craig Carter, a 51-year-old officer with the Metropolitan Police, made a low-key appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court this Friday. He faces serious charges of misconduct in public office linked to a theft that happened last September.
The Dramatic Incident
The allegations relate to an incident in north London where Claudio Gaetani, 45, suffered a heart attack and collapsed on a busy street. It’s claimed Carter stole money during the distressing event, sparking outrage and investigations.
Case Escalated to Crown Court
Dressed smartly in a blue suit and patterned tie, Carter confirmed his identity but the bench deemed the matter severe enough to transfer it. The case will now be heard at Wood Green Crown Court, with a hearing set for July 26.
Suspended and Awaiting Justice
Currently suspended from duty, the Met officer attached to the North Area Command Unit covering Enfield and Haringey remains on unconditional bail while the legal process unfolds.
