Elderly Woman Dies in Rhyl, Man Charged with Murder

A 69-year-old woman has tragically died from severe injuries in Rhyl, North Wales. The victim was found at a Cefndy Road property on Thursday night, sparking a murder investigation.

Man Held Over Murder

Emergency crews rushed the woman to hospital, but she sadly died soon after arrival. The exact cause of her injuries has not been revealed. A 33-year-old man, Dean Mark Albert Mears, was arrested on suspicion of murder. He now faces formal charges and is set to appear at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court this Monday.

Another Arrest Made

In a related development, a 25-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has since been released on bail.

“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this sad time, who are being supported by specialist police teams,” said Detective Chief Inspector Lee Boycott. The incident has been reported to His Majesty’s Coroner.
