Babysitter Jailed for 8 Years After Shocking Abuse Exposed by Met Police
Roksana Lecka’s Sickening Nursery Crimes Uncovered
Roksana Helena Lecka, 22, from Hounslow, has been slammed with an eight-year jail sentence at Kingston Crown Court in Scotland. She was found guilty of 21 counts of child cruelty after a damning Met Police probe revealed months of brutal abuse at two nurseries between October 2023 and June 2024.
CCTV footage showed Lecka pinching, hitting, shoving babies to the floor, pulling their hair, kicking them in the face, and shockingly vaping near their cots. The youngest victim was just 10 months old.
Parents Applaud Police for Giving Them a Voice
“The victims are just babies,” said Detective Inspector Sian Hutchings from the Met’s Public Protection Command. “We were shocked by Lecka’s cold refusal to take responsibility for her actions. Thanks to the relentless work of our team and partners, this woman will no longer harm children.”
The Met’s Child Abuse Investigation Team sifted through over 300 hours of CCTV footage in just 10 days. Parents stepped forward with injury photos and statements, helping build the case.
“I can’t imagine the pain these parents endured at court, hearing what Lecka did to their children,” Hutchings added. “Yet they showed remarkable dignity and even recorded a thank you video for the officers who supported them.”
Lecka Arrested and Sentenced After Police Probe
- Police were first called to a Twickenham nursery in June 2024 after staff raised red flags over Lecka’s behaviour.
- She was arrested at her home in July but clammed up, refusing to answer questions or admit guilt—even when faced with CCTV evidence.
- Lecka faced charges including child cruelty, actual bodily harm, and attempted grievous bodily harm with intent.
- The jury convicted her on most counts, handing down an eight-year sentence and banning her from working with children forever.
Detective Inspector Hutchings praised officers DC Geoff Boye and DC Eloise Hand for their tireless work and compassion in bringing Lecka to justice. “This sentence sends a clear message: children must be protected, and those who abuse them will be held accountable,” she said.
