Kent Police Raid Warehouse, Seize 800 Cannabis Plants

Kent Police swooped on a warehouse in Poulton Close after reports surfaced of a massive cannabis grow operation on Wednesday, 3 January 2024.

Dangerous DIY Electrical Setup Discovered

Officers found makeshift electrical gear inside the building, causing disruptions to the regular supply. Experts were called in to secure the power before the police dismantled the entire cultivation setup.

Organised Crime Under Fire

About 800 cannabis plants were seized in the raid. Detective Constable Robert Rainbow from East Kent CID condemned the operation, saying:

“Cannabis production sites such as this are set up to fuel the illegal activities of large, organised groups whose crimes have devastating effects that ripple out through communities. I am pleased that our officers have shut down this cultivation and removed these illegal drugs from circulation, while we continue investigations to bring those involved to justice.”
