Teen Charged in String of Knife Robberies Across Southampton
A 17-year-old boy faces serious charges after a spree of violent robberies and attempted robberies in Southampton on the evening of August 27. The incidents unfolded between 6pm and 7pm, leaving the city on edge.
Seven Incidents in One Hour
- 6:30pm – Assault with intent to rob at Subway on High Road.
- 6:35pm – Robbery at Swaythling Train Station; a 30-year-old man was robbed of his watch.
- 6:40pm – Robbery on Brookside Way; a 29-year-old man’s phone was stolen after being threatened with a knife.
- 6:45pm – Attempted robbery on Monks Way; a 57-year-old woman was threatened by the teen wielding a knife demanding her phone.
- 6:50pm – Attempted robbery on Octavia Road; a 26-year-old man was targeted.
- 6:55pm – Robbery on Mansbridge Road; a victim was approached and robbed.
- 7:00pm – Attempted robbery at Riverside Park; a couple walking their dog were threatened with a knife and demanded money.
The teenager is also charged with assault on an emergency worker related to the incidents.
