Soham Killer Ian Huntley’s Daughter Furious: “Flush His Ashes Down the Toilet”
Ian Huntley Dies After Prison Attack
Ian Huntley, the notorious Soham murderer, has died after life support was switched off following a vicious prison assault. The 52-year-old never woke from a coma caused by a brutal attack at HMP Frankland in County Durham on February 26. Sources say he was allegedly bludgeoned with a three-foot metal bar by fellow inmate triple killer Anthony Russell, 43. Prisoners reportedly cheered and chanted upon hearing news of his death inside the prison known as “Monster Mansion.”
Daughter Samantha Bryan Speaks Out
Samantha Bryan, Huntley’s biological daughter, didn’t hold back her feelings. “I felt relieved. I didn’t cry. I smiled. I was over the moon to be honest,” she told The Sun on Sunday. “I’m just glad he’s gone.”
She also slammed the idea of any funeral or grave for her father, insisting his remains be treated with contempt. “He shouldn’t have the dignity of a funeral or grave. I will not be going,” Samantha said. “There’s nothing about him to celebrate. He’ll burn in hell. There is no place for him in heaven. The devil is waiting.”
Mother Echoes Daughter’s Fury
Samantha’s mother, Katie Bryan, who was in a relationship with Huntley from age 15 and pregnant with Samantha when they parted ways, agreed wholeheartedly. “Why should he be given the dignity of a grave? He’s the devil,” she said. “I can’t stop thinking about what he did to Holly and Jessica and how he left them in a ditch.”
A Complex Legacy
Samantha only found out Huntley was her biological father at 14 after researching local crimes for a school project. Despite feeling relief at his death, she admitted it was a shock. “He’s nothing to me apart from biology,” she said. “I do wish I had met him before he died just to see what he would say.”
She confirmed she has shed many tears for Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman—the innocent victims Huntley brutally killed in 2002—and their families. “I don’t ever want Holly and Jessica to ever be forgotten,” she added.
Prison Violence Throughout Sentence
Huntley had been serving a life sentence with a minimum 40-year term since his 2003 conviction. Throughout his time in custody, he faced multiple violent attacks, culminating in the fatal assault that ended his life.
