Soham Killer Ian Huntley Dead After Brutal Prison Beating – Daughter Calls to “Flush His Ashes Down the Toilet”
Ian Huntley Dies Following Savage Jail Attack
Ian Huntley, the notorious Soham murderer, has died after life support was turned off following a vicious prison assault. The 52-year-old never woke from a coma caused by a savage attack at HMP Frankland in County Durham on February 26. Sources say Huntley was bludgeoned with a three-foot metal bar by fellow inmate, triple killer Anthony Russell, 43. Inside the prison, grimly nicknamed “Monster Mansion,” inmates reportedly cheered when news of Huntley’s death broke.
Daughter Samantha Bryan: “I’m Over the Moon He’s Gone”
Samantha Bryan, Huntley’s biological daughter, spared no kindness in reacting to his death. “I felt relieved. I didn’t cry. I smiled. I was over the moon to be honest,” she told The Sun on Sunday.
She fiercely rejected any dignity for her father’s remains. “He shouldn’t have the dignity of a funeral or grave. I will not be going,” Samantha vowed. “There’s nothing about him to celebrate. He’ll burn in hell. There is no place for him in heaven. The devil is waiting.”
Mother Katie Bryan Shares the Outrage
Samantha’s mother, Katie Bryan, who was pregnant with Samantha when she ended her relationship with Huntley, fully echoed her daughter’s scorn. “Why should he be given the dignity of a grave? He’s the devil,” she said. “I can’t stop thinking about what he did to Holly and Jessica and how he left them in a ditch.”
A Dark Legacy and Complex Family Ties
Samantha only discovered Huntley was her biological father at 14, after researching local crimes for a school project. Despite the shock, she admitted feeling relief at his death. “He’s nothing to me apart from biology,” she said. “I do wish I had met him before he died just to see what he would say.”
She also shared her deep sympathy for Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman—the innocent victims brutally murdered by Huntley in 2002—and their families. “I don’t ever want Holly and Jessica to ever be forgotten,” she added.
Prison Violence Marks Huntley’s Final Years
Huntley had been serving a life sentence with a minimum 40-year term since his 2003 conviction. His time behind bars was marred by multiple violent attacks, culminating in the fatal beating that ended his life.
