Three Arrested for Burglary at Queen Victoria’s Historic Norris Castle
Police swooped on three men suspected of burgling the grounds of Queen Victoria’s famed Norris Castle. The dramatic arrest came after a tip-off from a vigilant member of the public who spotted the suspects acting strangely on the castle’s site.
High-Tech Hunt Ends in Arrest
Hampshire Constabulary launched a full-scale manhunt with help from the National Air Support helicopter, the Dog Unit, and officers on foot. The trio were found lurking on the castle grounds, which are currently undergoing a major facelift.
Castle Conversion Project Targeted
The historic site, once Queen Victoria’s childhood retreat, is being transformed into a luxury boutique hotel by developers Uavend. Police were quick to act after being called at 10:23am on Saturday to reports of a burglary at Norris Castle in East Cowes.
Suspects in Custody
A police spokesperson confirmed:
“Officers responded swiftly and arrested three men found in the grounds. They remain in custody at this time.”
