Son Convicted of Brutally Murdering Father in Kensington Flat

A son has been found guilty of viciously murdering his elderly father in a savage attack at their Kensington home. Aston Lambert, 33, from Longridge Road, Kensington, was convicted at Southwark Crown Court of killing his 78-year-old dad, Alban Lambert, in a horrific assault on Sunday, 17 August 2024.

Family Pay Heartbreaking Tribute

“Mr Alban Lambert was deeply loved by all who knew him, especially his family and friends. He brought joy and laughter to everyone around him. It is devastating to try and understand the senseless tragedy that took his life,” the family said.

“We are shattered by the loss of our Alban, who was a father, grandfather, stepfather, brother, uncle, cousin, partner, and friend.”

The grieving family also thanked emergency services and investigators for their support and asked for privacy during this difficult time.

Detectives Reveal Murder Motive: MONEY

Detective Chief Inspector Samantha Townsend, of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, revealed a chilling motive behind the killing.

“Aston Lambert attacked his father over money. He confronted Alban in his flat and demanded cash. When Alban said he had none, Aston flew into a violent rage, leading to this ruthless murder.”

“Alban was frail and defenseless, killed in the safety of his own home by someone who should have protected him.”

DCI Townsend praised the family for their dignity and strength throughout the trial and investigation.

Sentencing Set for September

Aston Lambert will be sentenced on Friday, 12 September 2025 at Southwark Crown Court. The shocking case has left the community reeling as justice prepares to be served.
