Sussex Police Officer Faces Sexual Assault Charges
A serving Sussex Police officer, PC Ryan Busby, 25, has been hit with four counts of sexual assault by touching. The alleged offences took place while he was off duty on 20 December 2024. All four women involved are reportedly known to him personally.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) gave the green light to the charges after a thorough evidence review.
PC Busby Set for Court Appearance
Currently suspended, PC Busby is due to appear at Guildford Magistrates’ Court on 8 July 2025. Sussex Police confirmed the charges and stressed they treat such allegations with utmost seriousness.

Investigation Oversight and Next Steps
The case was referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which ordered Sussex Police’s Professional Standards Department to launch a local investigation into Busby’s alleged misconduct.
The case is now moving through the courts. Sussex Police have pledged full cooperation with the legal process as the investigation continues.
