Swindon Bomb Hoax: James Morgan Charged Over School Evacuation Panic

Bomb Hoax Sparks Emergency at Swindon School

A man has been charged after a bomb hoax call forced an evacuation at Badbury Park Primary School in Swindon. The fake threat triggered a massive police response and chaos for pupils, staff, and locals.

James Morgan Arrested Over Panic Call

James Morgan, 36, from Rabley Wood View, Marlborough, was arrested on Tuesday, February 25, just an hour after the all-clear was given. Today, February 26, he was formally charged with communicating false information related to the scare.

The hoax caused the school to be fully evacuated. Teachers, pupils, and nearby residents were forced out while a 200-metre safety cordon was set up. Rainscombe Road remained closed for hours as officers searched the premises for any real danger.

Morgan has now been remanded in custody and will appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, February 27.

Wiltshire Police Hit Back at Dangerous Prank

Superintendent Steve Cox of Wiltshire Police said: “Hoax calling is an offence we treat extremely seriously as it draws emergency workers away from legitimate incidents where there is a real risk to people’s lives.

“The rapid and thorough investigation from my officers demonstrates our intolerance to this sort of criminality.”

Police thanked the public for their patience while ensuring the community’s safety. Anyone with more information is urged to contact Wiltshire Police on 101.
