Swindon Man Jailed for Massive Cannabis Haul Worth £100K
Kurtis Knee, 23, from Swindon, has been locked up for two years after pleading guilty to serious drug offences. The sentence came down on October 14 at Swindon Crown Court.
10kg of Cannabis and £5,689 in Cash Found at Home Raid
Police swooped on Knee’s house on Keswick Road, Park South, on July 31. Officers uncovered nearly 10 kilograms of cannabis, a stash of cash totalling £5,689, plus pricey clothing and trainers. The seized drugs could have fetched around £100,000 on the streets if sold in smaller quantities.
Police Warn of Hidden Dangers Behind Cannabis Dealing
“Cannabis is often seen as a low-level drug, but its supply comes with significant risks,” said PC Thompson. “Young people drawn into dealing face serious threats from rivals and violence.”
Inspector David Tippetts praised the bust, adding: “This is a massive win against someone who kept dealing drugs despite past convictions. We’re committed to working with the community to stamp out illegal supply in Swindon.”
Warning Over ‘County Lines’ Drug Gangs Exploiting the Vulnerable
The case throws light on organised crime gangs using ‘county lines’ to push drugs from cities into smaller towns and rural areas. These criminals often exploit vulnerable people to move their illicit cargo.
Wiltshire Police urge anyone spotting suspicious drug activity to report it immediately. More on spotting county lines operations can be found on WILTSHIRE" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Wiltshire Police’s website.
