Drug Dealer Nabbed on CCTV in Chelmsford Jailed for Class A Supply
A drug dealer caught red-handed by CCTV in Chelmsford has been jailed after being found with a stash of class A drugs. Taylor, who was already slapped with a suspended sentence in March 2020 for cannabis supply, got done again just months after his tag came off.
Chelmsford CCTV Spots Drug Activity
At about 4.20pm on Monday 10 August, Chelmsford City Council’s CCTV operators raised the alarm over suspicious drug activity behind the Chelmsford Canoe Club. Police rushed to the scene and stopped Taylor.
Officers found two mobile phones and cash on him. The CCTV team noticed Taylor was hiding a package down his trousers. A thorough search uncovered 25 wraps of class A drugs tucked inside a small bag.
Police Condemn Taylor’s Reckless Dealings
“Following excellent partnership work with the Council’s CCTV team, we detained Taylor ahead of a search,” said PC James Nickless of Chelmsford’s Community Policing Team. “We found phones, cash, and a further search revealed 25 wraps of class A drugs. Taylor was previously given a suspended sentence this year but clearly showed no regard for his conviction or the community.”
Taylor’s reckless actions, just two months after having his electronic tag removed, have landed him behind bars. PC Nickless added, “Drug dealing harms our communities and fuels exploitation. Taylor will now spend time in prison for his crimes.”
