PC Mohamed Ali Slapped with Written Warning for Cheating Scam
A police constable has been handed a formal written warning after being caught out for misconduct.
Cheating Clampdown at Police Training
PC Mohamed Ali, from the Central West Command Unit (AW), faced a misconduct hearing on Tuesday, 21 July. He was accused of breaching professional standards over honesty, integrity, following orders, and discreditable behaviour.
Desk Notes and iPad: The Misconduct Uncovered
The offence dates back to 6 December 2018. Back then, Ali was a student officer studying for his Certificate of Policing. He was alleged to have scribbled notes on a desk before a closed-book exam and used his iPad with those notes during the test — a clear attempt to cheat.
The misconduct panel found Ali guilty of breaking rules on Orders and Instructions and Discreditable Conduct.
The claim under Honesty and Integrity was not proven, the panel ruled.
Despite dodging the worst charge, PC Ali’s slip-up has still cost him a formal warning. Cheating won’t be tolerated in the force.
