Tragic Crash on N2 Claims Life of Motorcyclist
Fatal Collision at Philipstown Junction
A deadly smash between a car and a motorcycle tore through the N2 at Philipstown junction around 12.35pm IST today. The rider, a man in his 50s, died instantly at the scene.
Victim Taken to Hospital, No Other Injuries
The motorcyclist’s body was transferred to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda. Thankfully, no other injuries have been reported from the crash.
Road Closure and Investigation Underway
Gardaí are on site, shutting the N2 between Collon and Ardee. A full technical exam of the scene is underway with local diversions in place to ease traffic.
