75-Year-Old Man Arrested Over Shocking Sex Assault in Tunbridge Wells

A 75-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a female shop assistant in Tunbridge Wells, Kent Police confirmed today.

Disturbing Incident at Calverley Road Shop

The alleged attack happened at around 3:45 PM on Thursday, February 6, 2025, inside a store on Calverley Road. The suspect reportedly approached the woman, made inappropriate comments, touched her arm, and made lewd gestures before fleeing on foot.

Suspect Apprehended in Nearby Road

Police acted swiftly, tracking down a man from Crawley, West Sussex, nearby. He was arrested on suspicion of:

  • Sexual assault
  • Common assault
  • A public order offence

Police Launch Investigation, Suspect Released on Bail

The man has since been released on conditional bail until April while police continue their investigations.
