High-Speed Chase Ends with Arrest of Two in Stolen Range Rover
Sussex police bagged two men after a stolen Range Rover Sport SVR was tracked down and seized. The luxury SUV was reported stolen from Lewes Road, Eastbourne, sparking a tense police pursuit on Monday night (March 4) at around 8:45 pm.
Dangerous Driver Sparks Intense Police Hunt
Officers from the Roads Policing Unit (RPU) tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver sped off, turning the stop into a high-speed chase. The National Police Air Service (NPAS) and Specialist Enforcement Unit (SEU) joined forces to track the stolen SUV to Peacehaven, where the suspects were finally caught.
Two Men Charged After Dramatic Arrest
- A 31-year-old man faces charges including vehicle theft, dangerous driving, failing to comply with police orders, and driving while disqualified.
- His 32-year-old accomplice was arrested on similar charges.
Both men, local to Newhaven, remain in custody as police continue their investigation. The recovered Range Rover is now undergoing forensic examination to gather further evidence.
