Three Teens Convicted After Brutal Stabbing Murder in Broad Daylight
Three teenagers have been found guilty following the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Yousef Beker in central London. Two of the offenders travelled all the way from South London, aiming to settle a petty grudge that spiralled into deadly violence.
Nightmare on Edgware Road
On 10 September 2019, Yousef was stabbed to death outside a KFC on Edgware Road, Paddington, in full daylight. The shocking attack unfolded after a minor spat earlier that day between Yousef’s group and two youths from Lambeth.
Shortly after meeting on Edgware Road, tempers flared and fists flew. The situation turned deadly when knives were pulled, and Yousef was stabbed in the chest. He tried to escape with friends but was chased down and brutally attacked again before collapsing lifeless on the street.
Those Behind the Attack
- A 17-year-old male from Lambeth was convicted of manslaughter.
- Another 17-year-old male from Lambeth was found guilty of murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
- Zeshaun Daley, 19, of Holmewood Gardens, SW2, was convicted of murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
All three are set to be sentenced soon at the Old Bailey, where a three-month trial uncovered the disturbing details. After the attack, the trio fled the scene, discarding knives in nearby gardens before heading back south of the river.
Investigation and Police Statement
Police arrived within minutes, alerted by witnesses who tried to help Yousef. He was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital but succumbed to his injuries that evening. A post-mortem confirmed fatal stab wounds to his chest and back.
DCI Andy Partridge said: “Yousef was a bright young man studying business with his whole life ahead. His family has been devastated. These youths came armed and ready to hurt, travelling a long way to do so. Their brutal attack in broad daylight shocked the public, but justice has been served.”
“I hope today’s convictions send a strong message to anyone tempted to carry knives or commit violence – London will not tolerate it.”
Community Appeal
Detectives urge the public to stay vigilant. Anyone with information about weapon carriers or violent crimes is encouraged to come forward. Together, we can make London safer.
