Dering Woods near Pluckley, Kent, has been locked down tonight as Kent Police launch a major search operation. Ten squad cars surround the woodland’s car park, which is cordoned off with police tape.
Vulnerable Man Missing in Ashford District
Christopher Fisher, 31, known as Chris, vanished around 6pm on Thursday, 9 August 2018. He was last seen in or near the Dering Woods area, close to Pluckley and Headcorn. Chris is autistic and was visibly distressed when he disappeared.
Police Plea: Help Find Christopher and His Dog Molly
Chief Inspector Mark Hedges urged locals to check gardens and sheds for any sign of Chris and his beloved black and white Spaniel, Molly. “Dog walkers in the area need to keep a sharp eye out and alert us immediately if they spot him,” Hedges said.
“If you see him, please don’t approach – it will scare him and make his distress worse,” the Chief Inspector warned.
Chris wore dark trousers and either a blue raincoat or a navy zip-up hoodie. Before he vanished, he drove a silver Vauxhall Corsa, which has since been found. Police want anyone who saw him in the car on 9 August to come forward.
Act Now – Call Kent Police
Concern for Christopher’s safety remains high. If you have any information or spot Chris, contact Kent Police immediately on 101, quoting reference 09-1026. Let’s hope for his swift and safe return.
