Gang Murderer Slapped With Verdict After Brutal 2017 Attack

Christopher Wilson, 23, from Templar Drive, SE28, was found guilty of murdering 18-year-old Kacem Mokrane in a savage gang attack in Walthamstow back in 2017. The Old Bailey delivered the verdict on Thursday, December 12, after a lengthy re-trial. Wilson’s sentencing date is still under wraps.

Deadly East London Gang Feud Ends in Tragedy

Kacem Mokrane was viciously stabbed on November 16, 2017, during a violent brawl linked to ongoing rival gang violence in east London. The fatal attack happened on Mount Pleasant Road, where police were called around 11:15 PM following reports of men armed with knives, machetes, and swords.

Ambushed and stabbed multiple times, Kacem was rushed to Royal London Hospital for emergency surgery but tragically died on November 20. The post-mortem revealed he succumbed to multi-organ failure caused by hypovolemic shock from a stab wound to the abdomen.

Wilson Joins Four Others Behind Bars for Kacem’s Murder

Wilson is the fifth person convicted in connection with the killing. Four other gang members – Hamza Ul-Haq, Luca Griffiths, Abdirisak Ali, and Kamil Kazmierski – were sentenced in June 2023.

Police Unravel Complex Gang Crime With Relentless Investigation

Detective Inspector Ben Dalloway, from Specialist Crime, called the case “particularly complex” with multiple suspects and crime scenes linked to gang revenge.

“Kacem lost his life in a senseless and brutal attack by individuals intent on revenge following an ongoing feud between rival gangs,”

“This is the second trial Kacem’s family and loved ones have had to endure, and they are very much in my thoughts.”

The Metropolitan Police poured over 500 hours of CCTV and bodycam footage, cracking links between crimes and building a watertight case for the Crown Prosecution Service.

Justice Inches Closer for Kacem’s Family

Wilson’s conviction delivers another blow to gang violence and edges the family closer to closure after years of anguish and legal battles. The upcoming sentencing will finally bring some relief to those left shattered by this tragic attack.
