Two Women Nabbed on CCTV After Stealing Purse from 92-Year-Old in Gravesend Iceland
Gruesome Theft Targets Elderly Shopper
At around 11:45am, two women trailed a 92-year-old granny into the Iceland store on Cherryfield Drive. While one distracted her, the other swiped the victim’s purse straight from her handbag. The heartless move has left the elderly woman distressed and the local community on edge.
Police Release CCTV Images to Track Down Thieves
Kent Police have conducted thorough CCTV and witness enquiries. Detectives have now released images of two women believed to be involved in the crime, hoping to catch them before more victims fall prey.
Inspector Pleads for Witnesses and Info
“This was very distressing for the victim and to target a vulnerable person is despicable,” said Community Policing Inspector Andrew Robinson. “If anyone saw two suspicious women in the area at this time, or witnessed the incident and hasn’t come forward yet, please get in touch.”
He added, “We’re urging the women in the CCTV images, or anyone who knows them, to come forward — they could hold vital information.”
