Brutal Attack Near Latchmere Leisure Centre

The Met Police’s Homicide and Major Crime Command are leading the investigation. Detective Chief Inspector Simon Harding revealed that Tesfa was walking with another man down Burns Road. As they neared the Latchmere Road junction, the second man suddenly stabbed Tesfa before fleeing on foot.

“We are doing all we can to find out who is responsible for this murder and are appealing to anyone who may have any information, including any dashcam footage, to come forward,” said DCI Harding. “This stabbing happened in broad daylight and we believe there are people out there who can help us establish the facts of the incident.”

So far, no arrests have been made. A post-mortem on Tesfa will take place soon. His next of kin have been informed.

Police Urge Battersea Community to Speak Up

Chief Superintendent Sally Benatar expressed her sympathies to Tesfa’s family and the local community.

“My thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died following this tragic incident, and also with the local community who will undoubtedly be shocked and saddened by this murder,” she said.

She added: “We will leave no stone unturned in our search for whoever is responsible. Local neighbourhood officers are on hand, and I urge anyone with information or concerns to come forward as soon as possible.”
