Man Stabbed on Bridge Over Sanderstead Station in Shocking Teen Attack

A man was stabbed multiple times in the back during a brutal attack by a gang of teenagers on a bridge above Sanderstead station in South Croydon last night.

Emergency Services Rush to Scene

British Transport Police officers and paramedics scrambled to the scene around 11pm on Saturday, 29th April 2023. The victim, aged 27, was rushed to a major trauma centre with a stab wound to his back.

Thankfully, police confirmed his injury is not life-threatening or life-changing.

Police Launch Manhunt for Teenage Attackers

A crime scene remains in place while officers and a BTP dog handler hunt for the group responsible for the violent assault.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “Officers were called to Sanderstead railway station at 10.54pm on 29 April to reports of a stabbing. Paramedics attended, and a 27-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment of a single stab wound on his back. His injury is not deemed life-threatening or life-changing.”

No arrests have been made so far as enquiries continue.
