Police Step Up Patrols, Urge Vigilance
Officers from Southampton and Eastleigh are working closely with local schools and have ramped up patrols in affected areas. A Hampshire police spokesperson said:
“We want to reassure you that we are investigating the reports seriously. Not every account is identical, so we’re exploring all angles to identify common details about the vehicle and man involved.”
They added that similar reports from across Southampton are under review to spot any patterns. “We understand parents and schools are worried. Please stay alert but don’t panic. Remind children never to get into cars or speak to strangers and report any suspicious behaviour immediately.”
Parents Urged to Keep Kids Safe
- Talk to children about the dangers of strangers.
- Do not let kids get into cars with anyone they don’t know.
- Ensure children are accompanied when travelling to and from school if possible.
- If approached, seek help from a trusted adult and call 999.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed these incidents or saw the suspicious vehicle to contact them immediately.
Stay sharp. Keep your kids safe.
