Justice at Last for Portsmouth Fan Attacked by Russian Hooligan
Russian Football Thug Nabbed in Munich
A Russian football hooligan wanted for a savage attack on an England fan during the Euro 2016 riots in Marseilles has finally been caught. German police arrested the 31-year-old suspect as he landed in Munich from Moscow. His name remains under wraps.
Victim Suffered Horrific Injuries
The victim, a 51-year-old Portsmouth fan, suffered fractured bones and serious injuries to his brain and lungs. Known affectionately as Pepe by friends, Andrew Bache was placed in an induced coma after the brutal assault. Thankfully, he’s now out of the coma and recovering.
International Manhunt Ends
The arrest follows a 18-month joint investigation by German and British police. The Russian was wanted on an international arrest warrant issued by French authorities late last year. Police caught him during a plane transfer in Munich while he was travelling to a Europa League match in Bilbao, Spain. “It seems he didn’t count on the good co-operation of European law enforcement agencies,” said officials. Now, the thug faces up to 15 years behind bars for attempted homicide and grievous bodily harm. He’s currently locked up in a Munich jail, finally paying for his horrific crime.
