Man Held After Shocking Portsmouth City Centre Stabbing
A 36-year-old man has been arrested after a brutal stabbing in Portsmouth city centre last night. Police are still hunting two others who ran from the scene following the violent attack on Lake Road.
Violent Assault Leaves Man Fighting for Life
The victim, also 36, was found bleeding heavily from stab wounds to both legs just after 8.45pm near Cornwallis House, Southsea. Despite serious injuries, medics say he is stable and not in a life-threatening condition.
Eyewitnesses reported a heated altercation involving four men aged between their 20s and 30s. Three suspects fled on foot before police arrived.
Police Launch Manhunt as Tense Lockdown Hits Lake Road
Officers rushed to cordon off Lake Road shortly after the attack, as exclusive reports revealed last night. The arrested man is now in custody at Portsmouth Central police station, being questioned by Fratton CID detectives.
DI Dave West made a fresh appeal: “We want to hear from anyone who saw the assault or suspicious behaviour in the area last night. Your information could be crucial.”
